Toshiba rides on the latest trends in notebooks by presenting a pair of laptops with multitouch screens 13 to 14 inches, Satellite M500 and U500 Touch Touch, equipped with Core 2 Duo and Windows 7 pre-installed.
After the HP Pavilion TouchSmart DV3 and Acer Aspire 5738PG , also made its debut in Toshiba notebook market with touch screen and does so with two different models: the Satellite M500 and U500 Touch Touch. As suggested by the nomenclature traditionally adopted by Toshiba, the U500 is characterized by greater portability because equipping a 13-inch diagonal screen against dell’M500 14 inches, but the latter having its LED backlight panel. Both will still feature multitouch technology built-in support provided by the operating system Windows 7 (here in the Home Premium version): all activities that require the use of a mouse can be easily done with the pressure on the screen, and use gestures to make it even more intuitive and immediate interaction with their content.
To further improve the user experience with the new Satellite Touch, both notebooks will be equipped with a touch-ready software suite called LifeSpace, specially developed by Toshiba to “increase personal productivity in a unique and fun.” The suite consists of two software: Bulletin Board and ReelTime. The first is essentially a virtual wall on which to place your photos, save links, videos and organize documents, mark notes and appointments, or checklist to manage activities. ReelTime can easily find a file rather than newly opened scrolling visual history of the system with a simple hand gesture.
